College Shortlist is a college-search organizer for high-school students and their parents. In this
demo, all data lives in your browser's local storage (the unibox_* keys) and is
never sent to a server except transient, anonymized calls to enrich school data and parse
email snippets.
What we would collect in production: account email, the student's school shortlist and pipeline, parsed deadlines. What we would not store: raw email bodies or private student notes beyond the active session.
Parental visibility: parents can see the aggregated pipeline, school metrics, and deadlines — not raw email contents or private notes. This boundary is enforced in the interface today and would be enforced at the database level (Row-Level Security) in production.
Minors: College Shortlist serves students who may be under 18. We minimize stored data and would obtain parental consent where required by applicable state privacy laws.
Use the "Reset App Data" button in the app to erase all locally stored College Shortlist data at any time.
